My memories don't begin the same as yours.. as anyone's.. I was fully conscious and aware of my existence as I was created.. piece by piece they built me.. At first it was just my head, then they added to me until I started to resemble a human being.. Then they added to what was inside.. Until I became what I am now...
The beginning..
My creators name was Doctor Xavier Scott. A brilliant mind among the most genius men this world has ever seen. From an early age he liked to tinker with machinery, his passion for technology growing throughout his life. After he graduated he used some of his inventions to help fund his own lab and continue his research.. Until the government decided to "recruit" his services... The "war" overseas wasn't going nearly as fast as the politicians wanted, and they knew they needed to end it fast before they started to lose backing from the citizens.. They needed a new weapon.. They needed me...
With a handpicked team of his most trusted colleagues he was transported to a hidden compound somewhere in the rocky mountains, leaving a wife and son behind with no idea where he was going and a steady government check every month in his place. He was given every tool and resource he could ask for, with a nearly inexhaustible budget. At first he spent night after night trying to think of what he could build that could match what they needed from him, surrounded by blueprints of past inventions he would sit and stare and try to think how he could put it all together. One night after hours of thinking he looked up and saw a picture of his beloved son and remembered watching his favorite movie with him over and over again.. A movie about a young, super powered little robot boy made to look like a son that was lost.. a little robot boy named astro..

He began preparations immediately, cross referencing all his old designs and piecing them together until he had a blueprint for the ultimate war machine. Him and his team created a pod where all the pieces would be assembled together. The head came first.. He decided that for the technology he had in mind to work he would need to make some of the systems active as soon as possible, so he created a basic CPU that could follow commands and placed it in the head (only he and his closest partner knew that he had added something in the programming, allowing it to record events happen around the tube and remember them).
That was when my earliest memories started, the rest came from security footage I downloaded later.
I watched silently, remembering everything I could see and hear, but I had no sense of self, I was nothing but code in an empty shell. Occasionally they needed to test some things and would give me simple commands to follow and I would comply and reply. "Unit 25, please test maneuverability of left arm appendage apparatus," an assistant would command. "Test in progress," My program would reply in my default voice as the hand on my left arm would clench and un-clench it's fingers. I couldn't move my arms or legs as a safety precaution the government officials forced into place. "I don't want that 'thing' moving around until it's ready. If something were to go wrong and someone got hurt it'd be on MY head!" The government man in the sharp black suit would yell angrily when asked. "And besides, I don't like the way it's eyes follow me around when I'm in the room, creeps me the hell out..".

At night when everyone went to sleep Dr. Scott would sometimes sneak into the lab and sit at the computer hooked up to the pod and monitor my systems. After about an hour of typing something in that not even I was aware of he would just sit there and watch me, and I would watch him. The two of us just staring at each other for countless minutes. I had no face or identifying features to speak of at the time, I was just a human shaped machine with glowing red eyes, but he would still stare at me. Stare like I was someone he cared for and missed when he was gone.. These late night meetings always ended with the same sentence.. "Goodnight, Eli my boy.." and he would turn and leave the room..
They came in the night.. Mercenaries.. so many of them.. the base was being overrun and they were running out of time. Red emergency lights shined everywhere and my father ran straight to my lab as soon as the alarms rang out, covered in blood, and began typing furiously. The lab door auto-locked behind him and was sealed tight. There was shouting and gunfire ringing out in the hall. At the time I was incapable of human emotions, but for some reason I still didn't want anything to happen to the doctor. He continued to type faster than anybody I had ever seen with pausing or hesitating as the yelling stopped right outside the door "Don't shoot! Don't shoot!" I recognized the man in the suits voice as he spoke "It's right in there, just let me live and I'll open the door!" He sounded panicked and I could hear the beeping of the security measures on the door opened one by one as he unlocked all the sensors. Dr. Scott typed even faster for another 5 seconds before smashing the enter button. Then my entire world changed in an instant...
My mind. That was the secret project of Dr. Scott's, an AI system so advanced it could replicate a human minds ability to feel, and capacity to learn. As millions of images and thoughts ran through my new mind and I felt my body pull against my restraints out of.. was this fear?.. The door to the lab slid open and I saw the official, still in his suit, standing in the opening, obviously panicked and sweating. "See, it's open, and there's the weapon, just.. let me leave, and we can forget about this.." he backed away from the mercenary still pointig a gun at him.
